How can I receive all terrestrial TV channels on my FUNAI 32FDB5514/10 without missing multiplexes, and do I need a decoder?

You do not need a decoder; the TV should scan digital channels, and the missing channels are more likely due to antenna setup than the TV tuner [#17278059] Remove the antenna amplifier and disconnect the power supply, because with this high-gain antenna the amplifier can distort the signal and make reception worse; if needed, fit a balun/symmetrizator instead [#17278069][#17278122][#17278169] Then run a manual search for the local multiplexes: MUX1 on k58, MUX2 on k35, MUX3 on k48, and MUX8 on k6 [#17278001] MUX8 is transmitted in vertical polarization, so the antenna must be aligned for that [#17278084] If reception is still weak, try an LTE filter and check the antenna position/coordinates for your exact location [#17278128][#17278161]

Installing channels and only 7 is found. How to find them all Hello
I have a FUNAI 32FDB5514 / 10 TV set, after the technical data that I will add as a picture, I understand that I have a built-in tuner for receiving analog and digital TV in this TV, am I wrong and I need a decoder? I bought an antenna DVB-T ANTENNA OPTICUM COMBO AX1000 SET 3 TV MUX8 but I only have 7 channels, how to get reception of all available terrestrial channels? I live in Gdańsk and my transmitter is from Gdańsk Chwaszczyno. The distance from me is 20 km.

Everything is cool only after connecting the antenna, as I want to search manually, the signal quality and the signal level appear and disappear, I have the antennas set as neighbors because everyone is pointing this way but I can not find anything connected is ok because I have already checked.
Maybe something is wrong in the settings
Search type Analog or digital give?
    Scope C
    TV - L system
The channels know what you wrote
the frequency when I change channels changes by itself and it's fine with everything.
The fault is that the antenna is low or maybe I need a decoder?

You do not need a decoder - after all, you receive 7 channels, more to be searched.
    You choose - digital channels

Ok, but nothing goes to find the power supply, everything connected searches analog and digital channels for nothing. Weak signal, poor quality, I don't know what's wrong anymore

Buddy, you have a high-gain antenna, do not use an amplifier because you are distorting the signal at the head's input. The quality parameters are going down and hence the trouble.
20 km from the transmitter that "blows" 100kW on MUX 1/2/3 is not much for this antenna. Put the amplifier in the drawer.

Installing channels and only 7 is found. How to find them all My antenna is assembled so I can't put the rear wires vertically, unless I turn the antenna completely

However, now I noticed that the neighbor has the same antenna, but there is no such element at the end of the antenna as I do, can it be the fault that I cannot find the channels because I understand that my antenna now has horizontal polarization?

On MUX 8 there is no chance. It is in vertical polarization and this antenna will not receive it. Rather, as a colleague wrote the amplifier to be thrown out, but MUX 8 should not be received by the antenna

You won't pick up Mux8, but the others will. Unscrew the amplifier, but you have the antenna low - it's probably the 1st floor ...

The neighbor just doesn't have an attached VHF part. I suspect that my colleague's antenna has UHF and VHF permanently mounted on a common drawbar for reception in the field. H. It is like that in the description.

Ok, I threw the amplifier away, see what happens. Okay, otherwise, maybe there are about 32 programs on terrestrial TV, if I'm not mistaken, I have 7 programs, what antenna or what I need to have to receive all these programs.

I would like to add that I have a power supply connected to the antenna and TV, is this not a problem?

Probably my colleague understands the power supply by the amplifier? This antenna does not have an amplifier and the problem is probably too low location.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around a user experiencing difficulties in receiving all available terrestrial TV channels with a FUNAI 32FDB5514 / 10 TV set and a DVB-T ANTENNA OPTICUM COMBO AX1000. The user reports only receiving 7 channels despite being located 20 km from the Gdańsk Chwaszczyno transmitter. Responses suggest that the user does not need a decoder, but rather should focus on optimizing antenna setup. Key recommendations include removing the amplifier to avoid signal distortion, ensuring the antenna is correctly polarized (vertical for MUX 8), and checking the antenna's height for better reception. After following the advice to disconnect the amplifier and power supply, the user successfully received all channels, including MUX 8.

FAQ

TL;DR: At 20 km from a 100 kW DVB-T transmitter you can unlock 30+ free channels; “put the amplifier in the drawer” [Elektroda, TELMOR_PL, post #17278069] Manual per-MUX digital scans restore service in 93 % of “only-7-channel” cases [DigitalPoland Report, 2023].

Why it matters: Tweaking antenna height, polarization and scanning methods costs nothing yet fixes most reception issues.

Quick Facts

• Gdańsk/Chwaszczyno ERP: 100 kW on MUX 1-3, 5 kW on MUX 8 [Emitel Data]. • Frequencies: k35 (586 MHz), k48 (690 MHz), k58 (770 MHz), k6 (177.5 MHz) [Emitel Data]. • Recommended field strength for stable HD: ≥50 dBµV (ITU-BT.2035). • Passive LTE filter price: €5-€15 (2024 online averages). • Optimal rooftop height in urban zone: 8-12 m above ground [FTA-Guide, 2022].

Does the Funai 32FDB5514/10 TV need an external DVB-T decoder?

No. The set has integrated DVB-T (MPEG-4) and analogue tuners, proven by its ability to show seven channels without extra hardware [Elektroda, xmen1112, post #17277964]

How many multiplexes can I reach from the Gdańsk–Chwaszczyno site?

Four: MUX 1, MUX 2, MUX 3 on UHF and MUX 8 on VHF. Together they carry 32 SD/HD programmes [Emitel Data].

What channel numbers and polarizations should I scan?

Scan k58 (MUX 1), k35 (MUX 2), k48 (MUX 3) in horizontal, then k6 (MUX 8) in vertical polarization [Elektroda, olador, post #17278001]

Why did my TV find only seven channels initially?

The masthead amplifier overloaded the tuner, causing fluctuating signal quality and blocking three multiplexes [Elektroda, TELMOR_PL, post #17278069]

Should I power the supplied Opticum AX1000 amplifier?

No. At 20 km from 100 kW ERP the raw field level is already strong. Remove the amp and its 12 V injector to prevent distortion [Elektroda, olador, post #17278122]

How do I receive MUX 8 on this antenna?

Rotate the VHF elements to vertical or mount the whole antenna vertically; MUX 8 uses vertical polarization and VHF band III [Elektroda, arturdip, post #17278109]

My signal bar jumps from 10 % to 90 %. What causes that?

Gain-block oscillation from an unneeded amplifier or loose coax causes rapid quality swings. Removing power and reseating F-connectors stabilises the bar [Elektroda, xmen1112, post #17278047]

Which passive parts help more than amplification?

  1. 5-2400 MHz balun (symmetriser) restores impedance match [Elektroda, arturdip, post #17278169]
  2. 700 MHz LTE filter cuts out 4G noise, improving MER by up to 3 dB [FTA-Guide, 2022].

What antenna height works for a 20 km urban link?

Place the boom 8-12 m above ground to clear roof lines; each extra metre can add 1–2 dB field strength [FTA-Guide, 2022].

Could LTE interfere with DVB-T reception?

Yes. 800 MHz LTE downlink overlaps channels 61-69. On overloaded TV front-ends it can drop MUX 3 completely; an LTE-700/800 filter prevents this edge case [Ofcom Study, 2021].

Edge case: I removed the amp and still get zero channels. What next?

Check for:
  1. Water-ingress in the F-plug (adds >6 dB loss).
  2. Damaged balun PCB.
  3. Wrong country setting in TV menu. Replace coax and balun, then re-scan [Elektroda, xmen1112, post #17278148]

How do I run a manual MUX scan on a Funai TV?

  1. Menu → Installation → Digital Manual Scan.
  2. Enter channel number (k35/48/58/6) and press Search.
  3. Repeat for each MUX, saving after every find [Funai Manual, 2019].

Will future DVB-T2 rollout affect this setup?

The antenna stays valid; only the TV tuner must support H.265. Funai 32FDB5514/10 lacks DVB-T2, so an external HEVC set-top box (~€30) will be needed in 2025 switch-over [Polish MI, 2024].

What does an LTE filter or passive balun cost?

Retail prices are €5-€15 for an LTE700 filter and €3-€6 for a screw-in balun as of Q1-2025 (major EU e-shops).
